What don't people tell you about being a Graphic Designer?

Everyone wants to be great businessmen and doesn't want anyone to come up on their rank path so for this, the companies create more and more competition for the trend in graphic designing and moreover the companies creates a hard and clean, neat like premium designs that go under the tough competition for others. 

The individuals who nows about graphic designing think that it's easy but when the time comes for telling something to others they don't know how to start from scratch. because every graphic designer knows about everything in filed of designing but the commands are on their tips but doesn't remember about the working.

So today i will tell you all about the graphic designing and the steps to follow or the requirements for being a graphic designer. So let's get started with our blog we hope you like it.

here are some routine of a graphic designer's daily dose

Graphic Designers Typical day:

• Get to work
• Say your “Good Mornings”
• Grab Coffee (Provided in break room)
• Head to your office/Desk
• Get to work.
• Maybe a meeting (If it is the day to have the meeting)

Most of the businesses in cities tend to have still have a business structure in place, therefore the boss does not understand the importance of “Creative time” - Taking a break from your day to day job duties to stimulate the brain participating in a creative project and or activities to break that “Idea Block”. Most Designers realize this only once in the industry for a year and or have worked for a few different companies.

However this is not EVERY firm. There are smaller design firms that DO offer “Creative time” Simulate the brain in some form or another, and have close nit family style businesses. However those are hard to get into, and if you manage to get in you HAVE to like them, and participate in after work adventures and such to keep that relationship healthy. (From Experiences)

Being a Graphic designer is rewarding though! I lOVE IT! But here is the truth.

Graphic designer TRUE qualifications:

• Multitasking: Graphic Designers sometimes can deal with one project at a time, however many have multiple task or projects they have to slowly chip at in their day to day routine. This means having the ability to work on one task and switch to something else when needed is a MUST!
• Creative Mind: A Creative Mind is a MUST! If you are a logical person, yet love to design, I would suggest look more into the marketing director or the Design manager position instead of a designer. I mention this as, without the creative side, your designs will suffer from being boring. Clean is great yet boring over time.
• Organization: Some places require this to be a MUST, others do not. However the more organized you can be, the better off you are. This pertains to projects, materials, your desk, our office, your space, and shared spaces.
• Handle work load: Your work load can vary, from a lot to hardly nothing, to staying later that normal because you NEED to have something done. Your ability to handle and judge your work load is something that is a must in my opinion. When there is less work you will need to spread out your work and make sure you are “Working” on that project just as hard as if there was loads and loads of work. Having this balance will make it easier for you to manage your time.
• Manage Stress: With Multitasking, organization, and an ever changing work load, comes stress. Stress is something is EVERY job. This plays a huge part in the creative industry. Like Writers get writers block, there is something called “Idea block” or “Creative Block”, both are very frustrating and the more stress you are dealing with the more likely this is to happen. Being able to manage that stress is going to help you!
• Wear more than one hat (In most cases): Many Graphic designers in college tr to focus in an area they are comfortable in (Photoshop, illustrator, In Design) However in the industry it is HARD to find a job that you do and use one thing. Its hard to be hired on for “Im good with photoshop, but not in others”. This is were its better to have those strengths BUT being a jack of all trades is nice. Knowing these programs across the board, branching into some coding (HTML, CSS) and or learning some marketing is advised. Having these additional skills will help you get hired, possible more $$ per hour and or just the ability to take on more jobs at work to become a bigger asset to the company.
• Can be Anti-Social: Also, last but not least, being Anti-Social. one thing I have struggled with a lot in my time as a Graphic Designer, in college I was sold this “You are a team, you converse as a team, work together, talk, laugh, joke, build relationships” - well that is not the case for a handful of the jobs I found and worked after college. I have found a lot of places, people put headphones in BOTH ears and are working until lunch, conversing at lunch, and right back to the headphones. This is and was hard for someone who loves to talk → Me!

I hope this helps give you an idea of the Industry and what it is like outside of college. in this city there are not so much of graphic designers. Based on this info. on myself and friends I have to live in bigger cities. If something differs from others then feel free to share! :)
